Day 3 - Indianapolis and Chicago

Today we met back at the church to head out. We headed for the birth of motor racing at the Indianapolis Speedway. The youth enjoyed the bus tour around the track and walking through the museum. And thanks to Keith we all got free hats from the speedway. From there it was on to lunch and the Windy City. Apparently traffic is pretty bad up here. It took us a lot longer than expected to arrive at First UMC in Waukegan which is a suburb north of the city. Arriving at 6:00 gave us enough time to eat a hamburger and get ready to sing. The sanctuary had no air conditioning and was quite warm. But the crowd was awesome. There were only about 40 people there but they were very enthusiastic and a great crowd. We had a little problem with the heat but it was no big deal. We all recovered. We packed everything up after the concert and headed to our home for the next 3 nights at Downers Grove at the Comfort Inn. We had a 11:00 curfew and hopefully everyone is asleep right now because we have a long day ahead of us.

Tomorrow we head to Six Flags Great America for several hours and then we head to downtown to sing for a homeless dinner at Holy Covenant Methodist Church. Should be a fun...but warm...day.
