Recovering from Day 1
Yesterday was certainly a long drive. After pulling out around 10:15 we did not arrive in Louisville until 6:45. We quickly unloaded at 4th ave Methodist in downtown Louisville where we will be perfroming our first full program. We then journeyed to the church where we will be singing first and the one that is housing us tonight. We grabbed a quick bite at a local strip mall where some kids chose a Chinese buffet and others went to McAllister's Deli. We then headed to Christ United Methodist. We quickly left with our host families because it had been a long night. Other exciting things happened during the night. One group was getting a tour of downtown Louisville when the car they were riding in broke down. But thanks to the handy dandy cell phone list they were ale to call a chaperone and were rescued by none other than our own Johnny Perry! Thanks Johnny. Others got to drive around the city and see some sites including the famous Louisville slugger bat museum.
We have plenty of pictures to show you but wea are having trouble getting into the site now. As soon as we are able to do that I will get those uploaded. We certainly miss everybody but right now things are great and everyone seems to be having a great time.
Today after a covered dish luncheon at 4th ave church we are headed to the land of the Hoosiers and Indianapolis where we will be singing at a methodist church there and they are providing a taco bar for us. Should be interesting. We will let you know how it is tomorrow.
Mike
