This is a reproduction of the large, round window at the back of our new sanctuary. It incorporates the elements of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost (Acts 2:1-13).

"The rush of a violent wind" is shown through the movement of color and design. "Divided tongues of fire" are seen at the bottom of the windows as flames. The descending dove symbolizes the Holy Spirit indwelling and empowering individuals. The cross behind the dove speaks to us of the coming of the Holy Spirit as a fulfillment of Jesus promise (John 14:15-26; Acts 1:5), perhaps the most important event in the life of the early church.

The same God who breathed the creative breath of life over the force of the deep in Genesis, again breathed the divine breath of creation in the birth of the church. God's spirit, the Holy Spirit, is foundationally and essentially the church's life source.

As we enter and leave our sanctuary, this window serves as a reminder of the special gift of the Holy Spirit that dwells within believers to empower us to bear fruit and procalim the Gospel.
